The charismatic Kathrine Switzer has an inspirational, riveting story to tell.
She accomplished something that during her era was considered almost silly to think about and certainly ridiculous to discuss.
Switzer, who was the first woman to compete in the Boston Marathon and has since enjoyed success as an author, businesswoman and speaker – opened the Airdrie sustainability speaker series at Bert Church Theatre Sept. 5.
Switzer engaged the Airdrie audience by telling the story that she tells best: her leading role in an experience that revamped the way people viewed women in sports.
