The AVON RUNNING Berlin Women’s Run celebrates its 30th anniversary, by Horst Milde

Hi Friends, I’m now in Berlin! The 30th Anniversary of the Berlin Avon Frauenlauf (Women’s Run) is tomorrow. Where have 30 years gone?! With 18,500 women, this is the biggest women’s race in Germany, and still the original one. Here is a great story about the history.    This was written by Horst Milde, the man who started this race with me here in 1983. He was also the race director of the Berlin Marathon; now his son Mark is the race director of these, and many other huge Berlin events.Despite my sore achilles, I’ll see you all out there tomorrow! Cheers, Kathrine
