Please join us for a great evening with running legends, Kathrine Switzer and Roger Robinson this August. Kathrine Switzer in 1967 became the first woman to run the Boston Marathon and is author of the best-selling book “Marathon Woman”. Roger Robinson a 2:18 master runner, and, is a well-known author of “Heroes and Sparrows (two editions)”, “Running in Literature”, and, “Spirit of the Marathon.”
Forerunners is hosting two evenings with these accomplished runners, authors and mentors:
Monday August 6th – 5:30 pm – Roger and Kathrine to speak at Forerunners 4th Avenue – Book Signing to Follow
Tuesday August 7th– 6:30 pm – Roger and Kathrine to speak at Forerunners Main Street – Book Signing to Follow
Our evening at West 4th Avenue will open at 5 pm and Main Street 6:30 pm. Refreshments will be served while you have an opportunity to shop and find your seating.
Post seminar refreshments will also be served. There will be an opportunity for book signings after the seminar has finished.
Kathrine Switzer has long been one of running’s most iconic figures. Not just for breaking barriers as the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon in 1967, but also for creating positive global social change. Because of her millions of women are now empowered by the simple act of running.
