Kathrine was the first woman to win this race when it was first created in 1973, and she is being honored this year for her 45th anniversary. In addition to giving two talks at the expo and signing her book, she is also running the race, a real celebratory salute!
Friday, Mar.31: 4 PM: Kathrine speaks at expo (National Building Museum, 401 F Street, NW), signs books from 4:50 PM to 5:50 PM at CU Cherry Blossom booth; will be at Kathrine Switzer booth from 6-7 PM.
Sat., April 1: 11 AM: Kathrine speaks at expo (National Building Museum, 401 F Street, NW, ), signs books from noon-12:50 at CU Cherry Blossom booth; will be at Kathrine Switzer booth from 1-3:30 PM.
Sun, April 2: Kathrine runs CU Cherry Blossom 10 miler.
Kathrine Switzer has long been one of running’s most iconic figures. Not just for breaking barriers as the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon in 1967, but also for creating positive global social change. Because of her millions of women are now empowered by the simple act of running.
