I’m the guest speaker at this race which is already one of the mid-west’s biggest running events. The course is flat and fast, the expo is massive and I’ll be there with book signings and shirt and jewelry sales starting Thursday evening, then speaking at the pasta dinner. Race morning I’ll help with the radio commentary at the start and then be there to greet you at the finish in the mega U of I stadium!
Kathrine Switzer has long been one of running’s most iconic figures. Not just for breaking barriers as the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon in 1967, but also for creating positive global social change. Because of her millions of women are now empowered by the simple act of running.
