Celebrating its 35th anniversary! Roger Robinson and Kathrine Switzer have been brought back to Williamstown by popular demand as guests of honor to present a special speaking event on Saturday, Aug.10 at 12:30 on the Main Stage of the Williamstown Fair.Here we will mark the footsteps of the amazing athletes who have run this race and those especially of legendary Tom Longboat who first made this race famous. On Sunday, they will run the race and then speak again at the awards. The race is part of the 202-year-old Williamstown Fair, a charming rural festival, complete with horse pulls, baking contests, exhibits and carnival activities, so bring the whole family, this is a real treat.
Kathrine Switzer has long been one of running’s most iconic figures. Not just for breaking barriers as the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon in 1967, but also for creating positive global social change. Because of her millions of women are now empowered by the simple act of running.
