This is a special year in Iceland—it’s the 100th Anniversary of women getting the right to vote. To honor women’s breakthroughs, Kathrine has been invited by Islandsbanki, the national bank of Iceland and race sponsor as a speaker with some of Iceland’s women role models and leaders at a special forum entitled “Equal Rights Is a Marathon!” to be held at the Harpa Concert Hall (Aug.20) and then as a guest of the Reykjavik, Marathon, (Aug. 22) the country’s biggest running event and city festival. The races go on all day, followed by Culture Night, one of the most popular festivals in Iceland and the city’s greatest celebration, which draws people from around the world. Iceland is an ecological wonderland, and Reykjavik has been dubbed one of the ‘coolest’ cities in the world.
